Anja Andersen’s behaviour
I read that thing in a European handball forum.
Suzana Cubela, ex-Slagelse player gave an interview to a Serbian daily newspaper Sportski Zurnal about her time in Denmark, and it’s pretty shocking, especially the way she says Anja Andersen was treating her.
Here are some quotes:
“When I got injured and found out that I needed surgery, Anja simply stopped talking to me. She didn’t call me once to see how I was doing or if I needed something. I once called her to ask what therapy I needed and she just said she wasn’t going to waste her precious time on me…”
“She has some people who do the dirty work for her. Once a man showed up and ask me to sign contract annulment. I wouldn’t get any compensation, so I refused. It only made Anja more angry. Once she kicked me out of the physiotherapist’s room and I couldn’t get the treatment done. I was only allowed to watch the home matches in the back row of the arena. She didn’t let me travel to the away games with the rest of the team. In fact, I couldn’t go anywhere near the team bus.”
“The worst was when I was kicked out of my apartment. I asked her where I should go, she told me that she didn’t care. Still, she let me use Katarina Bulatovic’s old apartment, but later I found out she had already arranged with the owner that I should only stay there until March. It was clear she wanted me out of the club and the country. I was really struggling with money. My salary was already low and I had to give away over 60% in taxes. I was literally starving. I couldn’t ask anyone for help. At one point I didn’t even have enough money to buy a bus ticket to go a physical treatment. I was inside the house for days, couldn’t sleep, just crying for hours. Nobody could help me. Anja forbade the other girls to contact me. Ana Batinic drove me in her car to the doctor’s a few times, but it was in total secrecy, otherwise she would have problems with Anja.”
“Finally I agreed to annul the contract and return to Serbia. I just couldn’t hold on anymore. I was afraid I would go crazy if I stayed.”
“Not even when I was leaving Denmark did she allow me to come and say goodbye to the girls from the team. She only came by to check if I stole something from the appartment!”
